All-on-4 Dental Implants Brooklyn, NY: Case 4
Description
This patient presented with a precarious dentition due to general periodontitis that affected nearly all of her natural teeth. The anterior segments the upper and lower arches were mobile and flared labially resulting in unfavorable esthetics and poorly functioning teeth. We established a logical treatment plan with a fixed solution to this problem during our initial visit. She wanted to smile again with confidence and desired a fixed rehabilitation. These cases are usually planned with up to six implants in the upper arch. Computer assisted 3-dimensional planning determines the most favorable positions to retain a fixed prosthesis during a teeth-in-a-day procedure. In this case we elected to remove, and bone graft the posterior premolars and molars so that the bone volume could be improved. Many of these cases require adding bone that has unfortunately resorbed due to periodontal disease. The digital dental lab provided us with support to plan and produce a surgical template which would be used to install the implants. An intraoral scan facilitated the fabrication of the initial provisional dentition that was inserted within 24 hours. A newfound confidence would emerge as our patient recognized that her positive implant experience turned her into an advocate for how we routinely treat these cases with predictability and precision and superior outcomes.
